The attached Lid will keep items safely concealed, and the two swinging handles give great balance while carrying the Small Picnic Basket. Longaberger’s Cake Basket is an all-time standby favorite for Longaberger collectors, and with a wooden lid added it becomes a Small Picnic. Wouldn’t a group of patriotic baskets proclaim that you’re Proudly American for your summer celebrations or election-season events? This big square basket can carry and serve all sorts of things or be used for crafts so you can conceal your work. Navy upsplints and tack strip and bold red shoestring weave creating a plaid weave pattern and special star-shaped tack covers set the Proudly American Collection apart from others. The WoodCrafts attached Lid is in very nice condition with its stitched leather hinges, and it fastens closed with the traditional wooden toggle and leather lacing. This basket is gently used but doesn’t show it. All pieces are in very nice condition. The included WoodCrafts Riser will be very handy when layering items in the basket or can be set aside and used in other ways in your home. All four legs are well attached, which was sometimes a problem with Risers. It appears to be stained in Warm Brown, while the Proudly American Small Picnic Basket is Classic stain, so the Riser is probably a newer replacement one for the original. The difference in stains is not noticeable unless the Basket and Riser are sitting side-by-side. Special stand-up Proudly American fabric Liners featured sleek grosgrain ribbon trim to add a touch of color but not take away from the baskets. The Liner fabric is Old Glory fabric with Paprika red trim. The Liner requires the plastic Protector to hold it upright and look its best. Both are in good condition.
