1991 Longaberger Crisco American Pie Basket & Riser Set. The Crisco American Pie Basket was created when Longaberger partnered with Crisco in 1991 to recognize the winners of national pie bake-offs in each state. A special Crisco American Pie Celebration woodburn and woven insert make this basket’s attached Lid unique, while a blue and red layered tack strip on the top band and chain weave midway down are very American. The included Recipe Book includes each state winner’s recipes. The Crisco Pie Basket is the same size as the longtime favorite Cake Basket, with two swinging handles to balance carrying any load, as well as a wooden Riser that allows two layers to be placed in the basket. Carry plates and silverware on bottom and your loaded dish on top as you travel and make fun family memories. Attached woven Lids are always a delightful addition, and this one is held on with two nice leather hinges and closes with the traditional leather loop and wooden toggle bead. The Lid is in great condition, something to watch in older baskets. Use zoom feature on all photos. The WoodCrafts Riser is in unusually good condition and shows no signs of use, with all four legs firmly attached.
