You are viewing a 2005 Collectors Club Lightship Basket Set. The Basket features 1/8″ & 3/16″ Warm Brown weaves and a Wood Kerf Bottom. A new form inspired by the regional basket tradition of Nantucket Island. This is the first time for Longaberger to offer a woven lid with the use of cherry wood and brass tacks. The Lightship Basket is woven with continuous weaving in keeping with Nantucket Island baskets. Brass tacks are used to attach the trim strip and the Wood Kerf bottom base is made of cherry wood. The Woven Lid has a solid center also made of cherry wood and features an antique brass knob with ivory color inserted that has a locking “CC” pattern around the border. The Pattern honors scrimshaw art typically carved on bone in Nantucket Island. The Set includes the Basket, Protector, Woven Lid and original box. E basket set measures 7.5RD 5.75H (w/lid).
