2000 Longaberger Green Holiday Hostess Twelve Days of Christmas Basket Set. Holding anything from a tall thin pencil Christmas tree to small wrapped gifts to your current craft project, Longaberger’s big 2000 Twelve Days of Christmas Basket Set will be useful and used for years to come. The first Holiday Hostess with a tapering shape, the Twelve Days Basket has delicate crisscross weave at its middle. Two swinging handles make this Set balanced when carrying any load. Longaberger rewarded qualifying hostesses with exclusive Holiday Hostess Baskets annually for years and combined the red and green Christmas weave colors most years, with one color chosen for the tack strip at the top, green in this case. They have often been in a useful size for holiday use, like this one. The Twelve Days of Christmas Basket is the larger version of the 2000 Christmas Collection Deck the Halls Basket. Accessories include a plastic Protector and Evergreen Plaid fabric Liner with tassels. The 2000 baskets have a special Century Celebration woodburn on bottom. Both were woven on a collapsible form, allowing them to taper inward at the top. Unique over-edge fabric Liner has long points on two sides and comes only to the top of the band on the two sides with swinging handles. The silky tassels on the fabric Liner are supposed to be dark green but are really a dark red color. It’s not logical that they faded this way, with the rest of the Liner not faded at all. Did someone replace them with red tassels? Did Longaberger run out of green ones? They are not unpleasant or noticeable. Please use zoom feature on all photos. I have used my big Twelve Days of Christmas Basket Set to hold a 5 ft pencil Christmas tree for several years, with Longaberger ornaments on it of course. The tree I use has a square flat metal base that will fit inside the Basket Set, and the tree fits onto a pin on top of the base. Fill the Basket around the tree’s skinny trunk with colorful fabric, red and green paper shred, white fur fabric (snow), or your favorite festive tree skirt, tucked in. Basket set was briefly displayed, never with or near food, and is in great condition. Set includes the Twelve Days of Christmas Basket, fabric Liner, and plastic Protector.
