The Longaberger Company, Dresden Ohio, created handwoven baskets out of hardwood maple sourced from the US, pottery, hand-forged wrought iron and other items for over forty years, from 1973 to 2018. The company reopened in 2019 with artisans still located in Dresden Ohio who create baskets just as they had for a century before. Longaberger baskets are handwoven baskets and initialed by the artisan who created them. At the height of the company’s popularity there were over 4,000 weavers and over 70,000 home consultants. As a consultant for over 15 years, I have a great deal of inventory that was stored new and used in smoke free home. Now that I’ve moved my home is not large enough to display all of my beautiful collection.
